A Birthday Gift, Part 2

September 29, 2012

…one of my mates turned 21! So I decided to make another gift.

To be honest, I am not really the kind of friend who buys a gift then hands it to them. It’s not that I am a cheapskate, but you know the saying about the thoughts: It counts.

As I was creating this, I thought of her character. I would describe Janette as a serene, a bit shy and quiet person. Thus the color blue. The flowers yellow and red makes the painting a bit more vibrant, and those colors represent the bubbly and lively nature of Janette when she is around the people she cares for, and who cares for her in return.

The above image is the scanned/digitally-rendered version. I have not yet gotten a proper frame for it (frame above is done in Ps), but when I already have, I will edit this post and put up some hi-res pictures. 😛

The one I will give her is the original painting (done in watercolor), and I have yet to think of a gift wrap design. I just hope she’ll like it! 🙂

Happy 21st birthday, Janette!
